There's just something cool about the old XJ Jeep design. It's a very basic (square box) design with a tough attitude all rolled into reliable motoring. I really loved my old XJ and only sold it as I wanted to try the WJ Jeep range with the V8 engines and couldn't afford to keep both. I have always said that I would definitely get another XJ Jeep one day, and, I did. This model is a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport. To most XJ fans, the 95/96 were the sought after years. They still had the best square shape but unlike the 1994 and older models, this had grey cloth/vinyl interior, ABS brakes and an air bag. While the WJs were good, they were a bit cumbersome, bad on gas and it just felt "too precious". The older XJ just had that raw feeling about it, a rough can-do-attitude the later, more defined Jeeps, didn't have. The XJ has that oldschool rugged vibe about it.

Like my old XJ, this Jeep does the same duties. It's my daily driving recreational vehicle. From surf trips to the coast and fishing trips on the beach and rocks to hauling parts for work, for my toys and friends to golf gear, shopping and all kinds of other jobs. It's a workhorse. If you want something that's rugged, tough, cheap and belongs to the MoPar family, the XJ Jeep is the answer! A basic design and the worlds first SUV. My XJ has had the "Carlwalski" black out stealth treatment (my trademark haha) add the 4" suspension lift, mud tyres and sinister look and it not only performs well but looks the part. I LOVE my XJ and will always have one up the driveway from now on. It's a great all round vehicle that will tackle any task given. They are cheap enough to buy, run, maintain and enjoy!
