2002 Ford Falcon AUIII XR8

The AUIII XR8 was my first Ford. I would have liked to purchase a Mopar but Mopar weren't offering anything in my price range at the time. I was after something that was modern, had a V8 and had the styling I wanted. I decided to look at the XR8 Falcon range. Fantastic car with heaps of grunt and from my experience leaves the BA for dust. No dead spot, just floor it and go. The car had good pick up and was very easy to light up.

It was a very nice example with 20,000kms on the clock when purchased. The car was immaculate inside and out and had the distinctive Windsor rumble. The TS50 is the best Ford I've ever driven but this isn't too far behind it. A manual example would have been more fun but being such a nice example and wanting a modern daily runner that had a V8, I jumped at the purchase. The reason I sold the AUIII was due to the plain Jane automatic, not even a tiptronic, so, I got bored rather quickly lol. Awesome car that had it's fair share of tire burning fun, need I say more.

The cars major options were as follows: Liquid Silver, dark grey cloth interior, 5.0L Windsor (220kw) V8, 4-Speed automatic, A/C, CD and 6 stacker in dash CD changer, cruise control, 17" alloy wheels, aftermarket exhaust. Apart from some pedal covers and 35% tints, it remained factory stock. At one stage just before selling the car, I went through a little "undercover" cop car phase, buying & installing stock black spare wheels, scanners, lights in the grille and in the usual mufti spots. Just a bit of fun!
