Selling The 'Cuda

The 'Cuda project took time and hit a few financial bumps along the way and although it was my "Dad's" 'Cuda, I still owned 50% of it. Being a young guy, I had lots on the go. In this time, Dad wasn't getting any younger either and he had lost interest in the car. He had never owned a muscle car so he wasn't as "in to it" as me, not even close lol. It sat in our garage for 2+ years and become more of a hassle than the love affair of a project we had envisaged. We both decided that it wasn't to be. I would have taken it on all by myself but having several other toys, I wasn't in a position to achieve this to my level of quality. I had a new partner, life, a house, marriage and no doubt kids to plan and pay for so it just wasn't the right time for me to take it on.

The 'Cuda was sold to a very nice guy named Dean from Auckland on Friday the 13th of May, 2011. Was I sad? Not really, more relieved than anything else. From this day forward I will never go through another full blown bare metal restoration. Life is far too short to spend in the garage working on cars and/or paying for them to be done. From the day I sold the 'Cuda, I was only going to buy modern or complete running cars and leave them as is and enjoy them. I now have the ideal car set up for me. Lucy my show condition classic with her Hemi and my show condition modern vehicle, The Batram! Both are very fast and need nothing and are completely different to each other It's hard enough sometimes choosing which one to take out for a drive and as always, I'm not one to build cars to sit in the garage or just so I can brag about what I own......what's the point in that? I drive my cars and drive them hard and am glad I got out of this 'Cuda while I did!! At least it's gone to a good home and both parties walked away happy.
